Park in the lane by North Mymms Church (location - https://w3w.co/blend.calls.shorts) and head SW for 460m down St Mary’s Church Road, which is also North Mymms bridleway 2.

When the road bends to the right (location - https://w3w.co/lions.keen.ends), keep going SSW along the bridleway for 770m as it climbs the hill through Cangsley Grove.

At the top of the hill take the bridleway on your right (location - https://w3w.co/things.being.gums), North Mymms bridleway 90, which becomes Ridge bridleway 44 and head SW for 440m until you come to a footpath on your right (location - https://w3w.co/surely.robots.hurls).

Turn right on Ridge bridleway 10 and head SW for 850m until you reach a farm.

Just beyond the farm take the footpath on your right (location - https://w3w.co/hurry.rate.view). This is Ridge footpath 8, which heads N and downhill. After 850m you reach a track (location - https://w3w.co/ashes.cycles.vanish) where Ridge footpath 8 goes through the crops. This section can be overgrown, but there is an alternative route along a permissive path, marked in yellow above. Continue for a 1.2km until you reach Coursers Farm (location - https://w3w.co/thick.maps.chose).

Go through the farmyard and follow Ridge footpath 8 until you reach Coursers Road (location - https://w3w.co/trades.strong.varieties).

Cross Coursers Road and turn right on the bridleway immediately opposite, Ridge bridleway 32, and follow it NE and then N for 1.2km until you reach High Street Colney Heath to the right of the shops just past the coal post (location - https://w3w.co/export.tulip.pose).

* There is a pub, The Crooked Billet, in Colney Heath as well as some shops selling refreshments.

Cross High Street and take the footpath opposite the shops and to your left (location - https://w3w.co/pushes.gave.deaf), Colney Heath footpath 47, and follow it NE for 450m across two fields before you reach a track on your right (location - https://w3w.co/tides.banks.puns).

Take this track, Colney Heath restricted byway 51, and follow it SE for 170m until you reach Roestock Lane.

Cross the lane and head down the footpath directly opposite, Colney Heath footpath 23, for 85m looking out for a footpath on your left (location - https://w3w.co/unique.tins.pack). This is Colney Heath footpath 48. Follow it SE and then E for 290m until you reach Bullens Green Lane (location - https://w3w.co/love.drift.onion).

Turn right on Bullens Green Lane and follow it SSW then S for 560m until you reach Tollgate Road (location - https://w3w.co/summer.shady.larger).

Turn left and head SSE on Tollgate Road for 50m before taking the footpath on your left just after the farm (location - https://w3w.co/clever.runner.quit). This is North Mymms footpath 41. Here you go diagonally to your left heading ESE for 260m towards the energy pylon in the middle of the field. Go under the pylon and continue now heading ENE for 350m towards the A1(M)crossing a farm track on the way.

When you reach the A1(M) turn right (location - https://w3w.co/brave.hints.edits) and head S until you reach the farm track again. Cross the track to the right of the bridge over the A1(M) and take the stairs on the other side of the track (location - https://w3w.co/scam.puff.shut). Do not cross the A1(M) bridge but stay on the W side heading SE with the A1(M) on your left and the field on your right for 180m until you path cuts diagonally SSE through the crops for 400m heading for a distance wood. When you reach the wood (location - https://w3w.co/noon.wacky.angel), go through a gate, through the woodland, and emerge on Tollgate Road.

Cross Tollgate Road and turn left past one of the entrances to North Mymms Park, then turn right up St Mary's Church Road (location - https://w3w.co/mugs.answer.shirt) and back to where you parked.

* There is a pub, The Woodman Inn (location - https://w3w.co/toast.loving.soil), a short detour from the start and finish point. The detour is marked in yellow on the maps above and below.
