Three trails: 2.75 miles, 1.5 miles, and 0.75 miles

The Great Wood at Northaw is one of our favourite midweek walking spots; it gets fairly busy at weekends. There are three well-signposted trails. And in the middle you will find picnic tables. There are toilets at the car park, and you need to take a £1 for the car park honesty box.

We have not added GPS files for the three routes in The Great Wood because having three routes in one file messes up the download. Just follow the coloured signs and you should be fine. There is a walk map in the car park.

There are three trails in The Great Wood. The yellow trail is 2.75 miles, the blue trail is 1.5 miles, and the red trail is 0.75 miles. All are well signposted. Follow the way markers with the colour bands around the top. Just watch where you step; most dog owners are responsible and clear up after their pets, but, sadly, some don't.

There is a £1 parking fee for the car park. An honesty box (location - https://w3w.co/desks.prone.mass) has been placed in the wall of the green building (see image below).
