This is a lovely station-to-station linear walk which starts and Watton-at-Stone Station then heads south-west via Brickground Wood and Tewin Wood before dropping down to Welwyn North Station. It is one of 15 linear walks on the site which have been created for those who prefer to leave the car at home and travel by public transport. The White Horse at Burnham Green is a 380m detour about two-thirds of a way along the walk. You will cross one livestock field where there are signs asking dog owners to keep their pets on the lead.

Walk 220: Stapleford North Loop

For this walk we explored the countryside between a couple of existing routes in our collection in order to create a new loop. It involved walking along rights of way (ROW) we have not visited before, as well as revisiting some footpaths that we have featured in the past, but this time walked in reverse.

The result is a lovely route that has a bit of everything; woodland tracks, riverside paths, rolling countryside with great views, and the benefit of a short detour at the half-way point to Watton-at-Stone for those who want refreshments.

Walk 182: Hertford to Watton-at-Stone Linear

This lovely linear walk between Hertford North Station and Watton-at-Stone Station follows the River Beane. The route crosses Waterford Marsh and Waterford Heath, and passes through the grounds of Woodhall Park. There are two pubs close to the finish point, The George and Dragon and The Bull, as well as Crumbs bakery and cafe. A short detour to visit all three is included towards the end of the directions. There is one pub, The Millstream, close the start of the walk.

Walk 43: Datchworth Loop

5.8 miles (9.3 km) with 37m total ascent

This is a pleasant walk across rolling Hertfordshire countryside along good tracks with good views. The route follows byways, bridleways and avoids roads apart from one short section of a quiet country lane at the end.
