Walk 207: Walkern East Loop

This walk explores the rolling hills between Walkern and Ardeley along well defined footpaths, bridleways, and byways. There are two pubs and two cafe's in Walkern at the start and finish point, and a pub and cafe in Ardeley close to the halfway point.

Walk 195: Walkern North Loop

This walk offers wide open views across the rolling countryside north of Walkern. The route crosses some livestock fields and, at one point, a field of horse jumps. There are signs asking dog owners to keep their pets on leads. The route also crosses a number of arable fields.

Walk 183: Walkern South Loop

7.1 miles (11.4 km) with 105m of total ascent

A wonderful walk through the rolling countryside to the S and W of Walkern, a village which appeared in the Domesday book of 1086 as Walchra. The route heads SW to Aston End and then to Aston before returning along footpaths following the banks of the River Beane. There are pubs at Aston End and Aston and two in Walkern close to the start/finish point. The starting point is 4.7 miles ENE from Stevenage station by road.
