This route includes a couple of paths that feature in Walk 105: Hunsdon East Loop but followed in reverse, offering different views. The walk circles the Hunsdon Airfield, used by the RAF between 1941 and 1945 under the name of RAF Hunsdon. The route heads SE to visit the village of Eastwick at the halfway point.

This walk explores the countryside north of Hunsdon and includes sections from two other walks in this series. They are Walk 96: Hunsdon West Loop (points 11 to the end), and Walk 105: Hunsdon East Loop, (points 1 to 3). As with the other walks, this route starts in the village of Hunsdon where there are two pubs, The Crown and The Fox & Hounds.

Walk 105: Hunsdon East Loop

5.3 miles (8.5km) with 61m of total ascent

This is a good walk for anyone who can't manage ups and downs or climbing over stiles. It’s mainly on the flat and along wide tracks. Ideal for anyone pushing a buggy. You will be following bridleways through fields and footpaths through woodland. There are a couple of footbridges along the route, but few obstacles. The walk circles the largely defunct Hunsdon Airfield, used by the RAF between 1941 and 1945 under the name of RAF Hunsdon.

Walk 96: Hunsdon West Loop

6.7 miles - (10.8 km) with 99m total ascent

This is a great ramble if you want wide open views across the east Hertfordshire countryside. You will be walking along well-marked bridleways and footpaths, over farmland, through woodland, and by the side of rivers. The walk can be muddy in parts, especially where the route cuts across fields. The walk starts and finishes in the village of Hunsdon which is on a bus route. There are two pubs in the village - The Crown and The Fox & Hounds, - which serve food. There is also a village shop at the beginning of the route where you can buy refreshments.
