Walk 289: St Albans to Redbourn Linear

This linear route follows sections of both The Hertfordshire Way and The River Ver Trail connecting St Albans and Redbourn. The route weaves alongside the River Ver through some lovely countryside. However there are days when walking this route is not possible because a section of The Hertfordshire Way will be closed to the public, details below.

Walk 248: Redbourn South-East Loop

5.2 miles (8.4km) with 93m of total ascent

This walk starts and finishes on Redbourn Common then heads SW to join the Nickey Line before climbing to merge with part of the Ver Valley Trail. You will pass Redbournbury Watermill and Bakery and, if you time your visit for Saturday morning between 9am and 1pm you might be able to pick up some freshly baked bread or cakes. The route then crosses the River Ver before climbing again to Hammonds End Farm with its fascinating information boards about organic farming.
